In recent days, Virgin Islands government and the Department of Disaster Management have made several announcements regarding the operation of essential services in the Virgin Islands.


Only US passport holders and persons who are permanent residents of the United States are being allowed to enter the USVI port at present.

Government employees

Deputy Governor Rosalie Adams is seeking to make contact with all public officers.   All public officers and heads of departments are asked to report to the following locations to sign in. Public Officers should not report to the Ritter House, unless instructed to do so.  Sign in times are between 10 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. at the following locations.

Public officers situated at the National Emergency Operations Centre are asked to sign in with Haley Trott.

Pubic officers at the Public Works Department are to sign in with Irvan McMaster at the Public Works Department.

For the Water and Sewerage Department, field officers are to sign in with Vondi Alphonso at the Burt Point location. All other units including, administration, customer service and construction, are to report to the main office at the Water and Sewerage Department at 9:30 a.m. in jeans to clean and restore the office.

Public officers on Jost Van Dyke, Virgin Gorda and Anegada are to report to the District Officer at their respective District Offices.

Deputy Governor staff, which includes the Supervisor of Elections and the Archives and Records Management Unit, are to report to the Ground Floor of the Ritter House at 9:30 a.m. for further instruction.

Clean up

A territory-wide road clean-up has begun. Persons are asked to observe the curfew hours from 6 p.m.  to 9 a.m. daily until further notice. This will allow essential workers and heavy equipment operators to work without interruption.

Beyond curfew hours, persons are asked to avoid trafficking the streets except in cases of emergency to allow clean-up and transportation of waste to continue.

Ferry service

The public is advised that ferry service has resumed within the Virgin Islands.

Speedy’s leaves Virgin Gorda at 8 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. and returns at 9 a.m. and 4 p.m.

daily. All trips are from the Trellis Bay dock.


The public is advised via the BVI Banking Association that all banks are open for limited hours of operation from 10 a.m. to  p.m. until further notice.
