More than 400 people gathered at the Virgin Gorda Catholic Community Centre Saturday for the first Miss VG Easter Festival Teen Pageant, according to event coordinator Siobhan Flax.

Darissa Rogers won several awards and took the crown, edging out Tonya Vanterpool, Chinel Kuntz and Makeda Fahie.

Ms. Rogers also captured the titles of Best Introduction, Best Back in Time Wear, Best Platform Speech, Best Talent, Miss Popularity, Miss Intellect and Miss Poise.

The runner-up, Ms. Vanterpool, walked away with the titles of Best Career Wear, Best Eveningwear and Miss Photogenic.

The competition was well supported by the community, as there was standing room only at the hall, according to Ms. Flax.

“It went well as usual. All the girls performed really well,” the pageant coordinator said.
