Three men were arrested and charged after police found firearms, ammunition and drugs on Friday in Purcell Estate, police said Monday.

Seantroy Hanley, 36, and Jahkeema Charles, 32, both of Fat Hogs Bay, were jointly charged with two counts of keeping a firearm without a licence, two counts of unlawful possession of explosives, two counts of possession of a controlled drug, and two counts of possession of a controlled drug with intent to supply, according to the Police Information Office.

Quentin Noel, 19, of Purcell Estate, was charged with possession of a controlled drug, police said.

Mr. Charles was granted bail of $40,000 to appear at the Magistrates’ Court on April 18.

As of Monday, Messrs. Hanley and Noel remained in custody until the next available sitting of the Magistrates’ Court, police said.

The arrests came after officers conducted an extensive search after 5 p.m. in the vicinity of the basketball court in Purcell Estate, according to the PIO.

They found two firearms, several rounds of ammunition, a “large quantity of marijuana,” and “a quantity of” crack cocaine, police said.
