The developers of a planned $70 million resort and residential community to be built along the coastline in Havers expect to submit their development application to the Town and Country Planning Department by the end of the year, according to project director Robert Wong.

Mr. Wong said his team, a consortium of local investors known as JSSR Holdings, has in place all the financing for the project, and is now in the process of “crossing our t’s and dotting our i’s” for TCPD’s consideration.

“This development is a long process that has to be done correctly,” he said.

The developer also disputed an online report published last week that stated the project was put “on hold” by the TCPD, saying that JSSR Holdings simply hasn’t submitted all the necessary paperwork for the department’s consideration.

TCPD Chief Planner Gregory Adams agreed with Mr. Wong, explaining that all the development’s paperwork has to be submitted before his department can consider the application.

Neither Mr. Wong nor Mr. Adams would say exactly what information remains to be submitted.
