Eight athletes — six of them in the under-17 division — will represent the territory at the 40th LIME Carifta Games in Montego Bay, Jamaica on April 23-25,

the BVI Athletics Association announced Monday during a joint press conference with LIME and the BVI Olympic Committee.

Three athletes on the squad have Carifta Games experience, four were on last year’s CAC Jr. Championships team in Santo Domingo and three are 2014 Youth Olympic Games hopefuls.

All the athletes have recorded personal bests in their events during the course of the 2011 season.

The Under 17 athletes are Tarika Moses, Lakeisha “Mimi” Warner, Nelda Huggins, Taylor Hill, Tarique Moses and Jayden Cline.

Under-20 athletes are: J’Maal Alexander and Kanishque Todman.

All athletes except Jayden  will see action during Saturday’s opening day of the three-day competition.
