Shortly after a visit by the Duke of Gloucester, the territory’s Girl Guides and Boy Scouts received another United Kingdom visitor.

The youths performed “guard of honour” duties for Ann Llewellyn-Jones, the newly appointed branches adviser for Girlguiding UK, according to a press release from the Virgin Islands organisation.

Ms. Llewellyn-Jones acts as liaison between Commonwealth Headquarters in London and Guide groups in the overseas territories, which are referred to as “branch associations,” the press release said.

She visited in part to introduce general Guiding practices as adopted in the UK and to develop new ways to enhance the local chapter.

The training came during a March 15-19 workshop attended by current and aspiring leaders.
