Police issued an arrest blotter last week following a nearly ten-month hiatus.
The blotter, which lists January arrests only, is the first that police have released since last April, when they issued one covering the first two weeks of March 2025.
Last week’s blotter was issued on Feb. 4, following a Jan. 19 request from the Beacon.
In response to that request, Police Information Officer Akia Thomas-Nero provided an explanation for the delays.
“The system experienced a number of issues throughout 2025, which made it increasingly difficult to compile a comprehensive list of arrests,” Ms. Thomas-Nero told the Beacon on Jan. 19. “I am pleased to advise, however, that the reported glitches have now been resolved, and I plan to resume preparation of the blotter this week.”
Ms. Thomas-Nero did not respond to a request to provide a comprehensive list of all other arrests since March 15, 2025.
The January blotter appears in the February 12 issue of The BVI Beacon newspaper.
