Two robberies took place within two hours of each other on Sunday night in Road Town, police said.

One of the alleged victims reported that he was sitting outside Bolo’s Department Store around 8:20 p.m. when a man approached with a gun and demanded his gold chain, according to a press release from the Police Information Office.

“The assailant fled with the gold chain through the alley between Bolo’s and Bobby’s Supermarket,” the release stated.

Two hours later, another male victim reported that he was outside the Tortola Department Store when two males dressed in black wearing bandanas over their faces approached him, police said.

“One of the men pointed a handgun and demanded everything that he had and fled with his cellular phone, laptop and a costume gold chain in the direction of Chalwell Street,” according to the release.

The Royal Virgin Islands Police Force urges anyone who might have been in the area at the time of the incidents or might have information about the identity of the assailants to come forward.

Those with information can call police at 311 or the anonymous Crime Stoppers hotline at 800-8477.
