The St. George’s Secondary School was transformed to look like a garden on Saturday.

More than 60 people attended Tea from Around the World, an event held to raise funds for the school.

Outside, balloons and ribbons decorated tents that shaded guests from the sun. Flags of different countries hung around the school. Most of the female attendees wore floral dresses and hats.

Students went from table to table, serving pastries, tea, fruits and other snacks.

Last year’s graduates chaired the event and entertained the audience by dancing to music provided by the YAHOO Pan Groove members and a deejay. Students also put on a fashion show and a hat parade.

The tea party was the third organised by the school, according to Principal Dr. Myrna Belgrave. The first was held in 2009 under the theme “Tea in London,” the second last year under the theme “Evening in Paris.”
