Police have identified a body discovered on July 28 at Rogues Bay as Devern “Snoopy” Stanley, who went missing in June, according to Police Information Officer Diane Drayton.

The identification was made after tissue samples were taken from the body and sent overseas for testing, Ms. Drayton said in statement issued Thursday night.

The death, which a pathologist concluded was caused by blunt force trauma to the head, is being treated as a homicide, she added.

The deceased’s family was informed about the findings and will continue to be updated on the investigation, according to police.

Mr. Stanley, who was reported missing on June 7, was last seen by family members at his home in Free Bottom on June 4. Others reported seeing him later that evening at Crystal Night Club.

Police are asking anyone with information about the death to come forward.
