After a two-week trial at the High Court, Lower Estate resident Kenyatta Boynes was found guilty on Tuesday afternoon of one count of murder and one count of attempted murder stemming from a 2014 shooting in Road Town.

The nine-member jury reached their verdict at about 3 p.m. after deliberating for more than two hours.

Mr. Boynes allegedly shot Paul Prentice while he was sitting on the porch of Aaron’s Jeep, Car & Scooter Rentals on the evening of Dec. 14, 2014.

Mr. Prentice, who took a bullet to the chest, collapsed and died along Waterfront Drive.

Mr. Boynes, who is represented by defence attorney Patrick Thompson, was ordered to return for sentencing on Dec. 19.
