Liquor licenses

The Magistrates’ Court will hold a special sitting at 10 a.m. June 1 to hear applications to renew or obtain liquor licences, according to government. For more information contact the court at 468-4360.

 

Fishing meeting

The Conservation and Fisheries Department and the Ministry of Natural Resources and Labour will hold a meeting for fishers on Monday. The meeting, which will be held at the department’s Road Town office at 10 a.m., will include discussion of the annual Fisherman’s Day event as well as proposed changes to the Fisheries Act and Regulations.

TRC videos

The Telecommunications Regulatory Commission is holding a video competition for young people across the territory in honour of World Telecommunication and Information Society Day. Students ages 12 to 18 are invited to produce videos of three minutes or less explaining what “broadband means to them.” Prizes include smartphones, tablets, cash prizes and roundtrip tickets for two to Miami. Permit exemptions

Residents who applied last year for work permit exemptions because they have lived in the territory for 20 years or more can now pick up approved exemptions at the Ministry of Natural Resources and Labour, according to government. Applicants are advised to bring $225 for the processing fee and appear at the ministry’s Central Administration Building offices between 9 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. during the week.
