The event is the second in the organisation’s “Business After Hours” series of gatherings, which aim to promote a “positive business and social environment for the benefit of the territory,” according to a BVICCHA press release. The first event was held in March at Scotiabank.

Water producer Ocean Conversion announced last week that it is supporting a youth basketball team with a $600 donation. The company is sponsoring the “Speed Zone” basketball team for the May 14 Basketball League Competition, according to a company press release.

Two international organisations are linking together to strengthen tourism development in Latin America and the Caribbean, the groups’ representatives said. Joint activities planned by the Inter-American Development Bank and the United Nations World Tourism Organisation aim to improve the measurement of tourism, strengthen governance and promote investment, according to an IDB press release. The first phase of the cooperation, which is planned to last until 2012, began with a conference on tourism statistics held in Montevideo, Uruguay this month, according to the release.
