New website

Two men launched a news website last Thursday, promising to provide “positive news related information” to Virgin Islands residents. At a launching ceremony at The Moorings, Raul Sprauve, a member of the Showtime Band, and Craig Lake, a disc jockey, formally launched the website BVIHotpress.com. The site aims to “aid in the continued growth and development of businesses operating in the BVI, with the primary view of increasing revenue and sales,” Mr. Sprauve said.

Public seminars

Meade Malone, an accountant and the author of the recently published book The Plan: Unlocking God’s Financial Blessing for your Life, announced Friday that he will host a series of seminars for the public based on the book’s teachings. The seminars will be held at U.P.’s Cineplex on June 25, July 9 and July 17. The first seminar and “rap session” is aimed at youths, the second is designed for women, and the third will be for men, Mr. Malone said.

TV show

Yacht charter company The Moorings was featured in an episode of the reality television show The Bachelorette, the company said. The ABC network show features a single woman who hopes to find “the man of her dreams” among the 25 men she meets over the course of the show’s season. In an episode of the show, which aired Monday, a Moorings yacht was featured in a date the “bachelorette,” Ashley Herbert, took in Phuket, Thailand, according to a Moorings press release.
