H. Lavity Stoutt Community College will continue its short course in business communication , the college announced last week. Module II of “Business Communication” will begin Friday and last four weeks. The class is scheduled from 9 a.m. to noon at the facility’s Marine Studies Centre and is only open to students who have taken the first module, a press release from the college stated.

Water producer Ocean Conversion-BVI Ltd. gave $3,000 to sponsor the 2011 ZROD Top7@7 Music Awards, the company said last week. According to a press release from OC-BVI, the donation was a way to support youths “endeavouring to break into the music industry.”

 

St. Kitts and Nevis

 

A United States hospital and a St. Kitts resort announced a joint venture last week to build and operate a surgical hospital in St. Kitts. The St. Kitts American University Hospital will be a 30,000-square-foot facility run by the American Hospital Management Company and Royal St. Kitts Beach Resort Ltd. The new venture is aimed at turning St. Kitts into a “quality medical tourism destination” and is scheduled to open in 2013, according to a press release from the AHMC. The company is in the process of applying for a licence to operate a medical school as well, turning the facility into a “teaching hospital,” the release stated.
