BVI Tourist Board Director Sharon Flax-Mars knows being from a sister island presents challenges to businesses in the territory, so she plans to hold quarterly meetings on Anegada, Jost Van Dyke and Virgin Gorda, she said Friday.

“The idea is that we are going to change that,” Ms. Flax-Mars said at a meeting for tourism stakeholders at Foxy’s on JVD.

In addition, she plans to visit the islands at least once a month. “There’s going to be a regular rotation,” she said.

About 40 representatives from restaurants and other businesses on JVD attended the meeting, where they aired concerns and asked questions about ferry service, customer service standards and other issues.
