There was wind, fire and rain at the Sir Rupert Briercliffe Hall when nearly 30 musicians and dancers performed in the CADA Players’ African Dream.

Dressed in colourfully patterned costumes, the dancers enacted an African folktale in which rain, wind and fire struggle to see which is the greatest.

In two performances on Saturday and Sunday, the players showcased popular African dance styles including Azonto from Ghana and Kukere from Nigeria.

The original production, which will show again at 8 p.m. on Saturday and 6 p.m. Sunday, is a fundraiser for Harmony House, a children’s home founded by Hands on Volunteers after the devastating earthquake that struck Haiti in 2010.
