Roadwork is ongoing in Cane Garden Bay to address existing problems and improve the area’s transportation network, government announced last week.

“Our primary goal is to conduct civil works along the road and coastal defence, specifically rectifying a 175-foot section that has been compromised,” said Public Works Department Director Jeremy Hodge.

Scheduling

The project — which is being overseen by the Ministry of Communications and Works — was scheduled so as to minimise disruptions to the traffic flow, according to a press release issued last Thursday.

Mr. Hodge is urging the public to exercise caution and follow all signage during this period. Works are expected to be completed by Monday.

The coastal road in Cane Garden Bay has long suffered from erosion exacerbated by high swells.
