For those who don’t have time to attend, watch or read the various parties’ election campaigning, here is a short list of promised items.

You will note that there are no financial figures mentioned apart from two of the items, and there is no sign of any manifestos.

These ideas come from all parties except the Reform Action Alliance, which rose and fell like Excalibur’s sword, and there is nothing from any of them about the sister islands. Some of the ideas are below:

A family park in District Three.

An underwater restaurant in District Two.

High rise parking in or near Road Town.

A museum in District Three.

A new dock for fishing and a farming market in District Three.

No same-sex marriages.

More resources for H. Lavity Stoutt Community College.

Restoring the scholarship programme.

$10 million to be given to the Small Business Bureau.

Increase the payroll-tax-free salary from $10,000 to $15,000.

24- hour cruise ships.

District councils.

Citizenship by skills to be fast-tracked.

100 percent renewable energy by 2030.

Construction costs to be reduced.

Excessive port fees to be cut.

Ports to be open 24 hours.

Legislation to force insurance companies, who cheated our people, to lower premiums.

Phew! I can’t wait. But with no manifestos, no costings, no budget and no idea how our finances stand, how much of this will get done?

Remember this Saturday is Gaming Night at Nanny Cay. Come and have fun at the tables, win prizes and support the animal shelter.
