Stakeholder meetings are underway as part of the second phase of the nine-month-long public service compensation review, according to Government Information Services.

The consultancy firm heading the effort — PricewaterhouseCoopers Advisory Services Limited — is conducting the sessions during its “current state assessment” of the public service, GIS stated in a Feb. 1 press release.

“During this phase, potential issues will be identified and key documentation will be reviewed to build an understanding of the public service, the purpose of the compensation review, the benefits and the desired outcomes,” according to GIS. “This also includes conducting interviews with key public officers and engaging union groups.”

Besides meeting with stakeholders this week through next Wednesday, the firm will conduct a digital survey to reach more public officers.

“Through this dialogue, PwC aims to gain perspective on the thinking and motivation of public officers as well as what differentiates high performance in specific roles,” the statement noted.

Stakeholders involved in the sessions include human resources managers, law enforcement departments, legal offices, technical departments, educational departments, House of Assembly members, senior managers, Cabinet members, the deputy governor, unions and associations, and environmental health and workforce development officers, according to GIS.

Completed

PwC has already completed the project planning phase, and four more phases are scheduled after the ongoing assessment: the “compensation philosophy and revised classification system;” the compensation review; the “job evaluation methodology phase;” and the “project close,” GIS stated.

Government and PwC signed a $302,103 contract for the review in October. The project is scheduled to conclude in August.
