You followed procedure, but things didn’t happen how they were supposed to. You went up appropriate the chain of command, but that didn’t work either. If you’re dealing with a government agency or department, you still haven’t reached the end of the line.

Like all Virgin Islands residents, you have one more option: Complaints Commissioner Elton Georges.

The office, which was officially opened March 3, 2009, is still an unknown for many residents. That’s something Mr. George and his small staff hope to change this month as they launch a public education campaign and a website where residents can submit their complaints, Mr. Georges said at a press conference yesterday.

The office has nonetheless been quite busy. In 2010, Mr. Georges said it had 121 inquiries, carried out 20 investigations and made 72 recommendations to various government departments.
