The performance, dubbed “Broadway Meets the BVI,” will also feature students from the Elmore Stoutt High School Drama Society, according to Mr. Gage, the director.

Participants will hear about 16 Broadway songs by Ms. Bryant and Mr. Credit, he added: “Some are going to be solos by both performers and some would be duets.”

The students will take the stage during a grand finale.

“We are very excited to bring a little bit of that Broadway energy to the island,” he said. “We hope it becomes an annual event.”

Though the HLSCC auditorium may be among the smaller venues in which the group has taken the stage, Mr. Gage described it as a “beautiful place to perform.”

Ms. Bryant, a native of South Carolina, has performed the role of Christine Daae in Andrew Lloyd Webber’s “The Phantom of the Opera” on Broadway and other stages.  She regularly performs in concerts throughout the world.

Mr. Credit’s work on and off Broadway has included roles in the Tony Award-winning companies of Harold Prince’s “Show Boat.” He was also a featured performer at the Barack Obama 2009 Pennsylvania Inaugural Ball in Washington DC.

Tickets for Friday’s concert are $30 for adults and $10 for children. For more information, call Alesia Hamm at 852-7104.
