Police are cooperating with immigration and customs officers as part of an investigation into a prospective police officer who travelled to St. Thomas on official business, Police Information Officer Diane Drayton stated.

Although the prospective officer had applied and successfully fulfilled the requirements to join the police force, he was not yet sworn in when he travelled with the other officers on board the police boat Midnight Justice on March 30, according to Ms. Drayton.

“No other civilians were on board the vessel,” Ms. Drayton stated.

“Present inquiries are ongoing into whether that prospective officer followed required immigration and customs procedures for exiting and entering the territory.”
