A female police officer was interdicted from duty on June 16 pending investigations into alleged obstruction while she was off duty, police said last Thursday.
In response to questions from the Beacon about the identity of the officer and whether she is still being paid, Police Information Officer Diane Drayton stated via WhatsApp on Friday, “The name of the officer is not provided because no charges have been laid in the matter.”
Ms. Drayton did not respond to follow-up questions asking about the accuracy of news reports about the incident.
A statement Ms. Drayton issued last Thursday said Police Commissioner Mark Collins had issued a “general announcement” to the force reminding “officers and staff of the code of conduct and his expectations that professional standards will be adhered to at all times.”
