A sailboat is docked at the Police Marine Headquarters at Road Reef after 560 kilos of cannabis were discovered when the boat was stopped near Anegada Thursday afternoon.

Captain Adrian Arthur, of Barbados, and crewmembers Ralph James, of Antigua, and Glenroy Pierre, a St. Vincent native who resides in Trinidad, were aboard the yacht Graecrest around 12:30 p.m. when the vessel was stopped by police and customs officers, according to the Police Information Office.

The drugs have a street value of more than $5 million, a press release said.

It was one of two drug busts that resulted in boat seizures Thursday afternoon.

A go-fast boat was stopped at 4:15 p.m. the same day on the northern side of Tortola, where police uncovered six kilograms of cocaine, according to the release.

Captain Nigel Registe, Dominica native residing in St. Thomas, and crewmember Kevin Greaves, of St. Thomas, were aboard the boat when police stopped it, according to the press release.

All five men, who are currently in custody, have been charged with illegal entry.

“Other charges are likely to be laid as police continue their investigation,” the press release said.
