A year after Virgin Islands businessman Le’ Shaughn Smith was fatally shot on Feb. 24, 2022, police issued a new appeal last Thursday for the public to help identify anyone responsible for the killing.
Initial investigations revealed that Mr. Smith was outside his business place, Big Ballers Jeep and Car Rental in Huntums Ghut, around 10 p.m. when he was shot, according to the Police Information Office.
The police added that a masked male and several other people were seen in the area at the time of the shooting. “Police are appealing to anyone who may have information, no matter how insignificant, which can assist in the apprehension and conviction of those responsible,” the PIO stated.
Information about Mr. Smith’s killing or other killings in the territory can be reported confidentially by calling the Crime Stoppers hotline locally at 800-8477 (TIPS) or internationally at 1-284-800-8477, police said.
