Smyrna Brewley, Joeverne Webb and Delma Perez entertained a gathering of about 300 people in the courtyard of the Road Town Police Station during the Miss Royal Virgin Islands Police Force Pageant.

The show was the first of many activities planned in celebration of the RVIPF’s 50th anniversary in February.

The pageant wasn’t typical. Instead of the usual swimwear display, for instance, the women dressed in their white official police tunics as they showed off their drill skills and fielded questions on how to better the force.

At the end of the night, the women were all called back to the stage, where Ms. Webb was crowned winner and Ms. Brewley was named first runner-up.

Ms. Webb is to compete in a regional pageant next year, police said.
