The number of active Covid-19 cases in the territory continues to drop, according to the latest numbers published by government.
As of Friday, there were 111 active cases, down from 132 on May 19 and 155 on May 13, according to the government’s most recent Covid dashboard updates.
Eighty-seven cases were located on Tortola as of Friday, and 24 were on Virgin Gorda.
One hundred cases were found locally, 10 through contact tracing, and one through travel screening. The dashboard showed that two people were hospitalised with Covid-19-related symptoms at the time.
Meanwhile, government reported that 18,030 people — about 60.1 percent of the population — had been fully vaccinated as of Friday. Another 1,318 had been partially vaccinated.
Government’s goal is to vaccinate at least 75 percent of the population, or approximately 22,500 people.
