A warehouse near the Terrance B. Lettsome International Airport used by Her Majesty’s Customs was burglarised Sunday evening or Monday morning, police and customs officials said.

The warehouse is used by various organisations, but the break-in appeared to be confined to the Customs portion of the building, Customs Comptroller Wade Smith said.

Customs uses the warehouse to store cargo from overseas awaiting inspection, according to Mr. Smith. Customs officers were not immediately sure if anything had been stolen, he said Tuesday, adding that they have been inspecting cargo manifests to determine whether anything was missing.

“Right now it’s hard to determine,” he said.
