Dominican Republic native Wilking Sanchez Tejeda is still at large after escaping detention at the Hotel Castle Maria on July 4, Police Information Officer Diane Drayton said via WhatsApp yesterday.
Mr. Sanchez Tejeda escaped with the help of an unknown person, and a security officer was attacked during the incident, according to a press release issued last Thursday by the Ministry of Natural Resources,Labour and Immigration.
“The matter was immediately reported to [the police]and a full investigation on the specific circumstances of the escape is ongoing.”
The press release did not say why Mr. Sanchez Tejeda was detained.
Anyone with information of his whereabouts should contact the Immigration Department at 468-4717 or 468-4715, as well as the police hotline at 311, the press release stated.
