Judges will assess yards in the Seventh and Eighth Districts Sunday for the “Deck Your Yard” contest.
Developed by the East Beautification Committee and the BVI Tourist Board, the programme is designed to encourage community members to beautify their properties between the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays, according to the EBC.
Cash and other prizes are to be awarded to the first, second and third place winner.
Judges will visit participants’ yards twice — once on Sunday to capture the yard in its initial phase, and again after Christmas to judge the final results.
The EBC also continues to give “Best Kept Yard” awards. The most recent winners were Melvin Pickering of Vanterpool Estate and Isaac Stoutt of Old Plantation, according to the EBC.
