OT ministers
Eight United Kingdom parliamentarians have served as overseas territories minister since Prime Minister David Cameron submitted his resignation to the Queen on July 13, 2016.

Unprecedented political turmoil has plagued the United Kingdom’s ruling Conservative Party since 2015, when then-Prime Minister David Cameron announced a referendum on whether Britain should exit the European Union.

After the pro-Brexit camp won the vote by a slim margin, Mr. Cameron resigned and handed the reins to Theresa May, who herself stepped down in 2019 after failing to broker a Brexit deal.

She was succeeded by Boris Johnson, who presided over Brexit only to resign the prime ministership last July amid a scandal involving an appointee accused of sexual misconduct.

He was replaced by his former foreign secretary, Liz Truss, who held the position less than two months before resigning and becoming the shortest-serving prime minister in UK history.

She was replaced by Rishi Sunak, who is currently in the position.

The ongoing turmoil at the top has brought a flood of changes to the UK Cabinet, including the position of minister for overseas territories.

The above eight parliamentarians have served as OT minister since Mr. Cameron submitted his resignation to the Queen on July 13, 2016.
