“Olé, olé, olé, olé! Feeling hot, hot, hot!” nearly 200 students sang as they made their way from the Festival Village Grounds to the Noel Lloyd Positive Action Movement Park on Thursday afternoon during the Parade for the Planet.

The students waved posters, paintings and placards with messages that warned of the importance of preserving the environment.

“Nurture nature; save your future,” read a poster held by a Willard Wheatley Primary School student.

Many participants wore masks depicting invasive species in the territory.

The march was part of activities planned for this Environment Month. Before it started, the Conservation and Fisheries Department and a few other government agencies hosted a Save the Planet Fair, displaying information on global climate change and the environment in the Noel Lloyd Positive Action Movement Park.
