Fashion shows, parties and deejays are on the lineup for the 11th annual Summer Sizzle BVI, which will be held from July 25-28.

The event will be hosted by Claire Sulmers, founder of, a blog with some 1.3 million followers that was recently featured on

The main event will be the July 27 Global Glamour Runway Show from 7:30 p.m. at the Multi-purpose Sports Complex.

The show will feature the work of designers from here and abroad, including Kimora Lee Simmons, Baby Phat, Korto Momolu, Cesar Galindo, Uzuri International, Chen Burkett, Raphelita by David Rolle, Nikini Resort Wear, Aqua Couture by Roger Gary, Shernicia Myers, The Islander Swim, Andrew Nowell and others.

Before that, activities will kick off with a July 25 welcome party from 8 p.m. at D’Coal Pot BVI Restaurant, Bar and Grill in Carrot Bay.

The next day, a style gala themed “Neon After Dark” will be held from 8 p.m. at Quito’s Gazebo in Cane Garden Bay.

On July 28, the final day, a sailing excursion will head to Jost Van Dyke for a beach party.

“Progressively, the translation of beauty and style is becoming synonymous with the glamour and culture of the British Virgin Islands, which further invigorates our purpose to produce a famed international fashion destination event that rivals any other,” said Terry Donovan, founder of Summer Sizzle BVI.

Mr. Donovan launched the event in 2007 in part to promote the territory and draw visitors during the tourism slow season, he has said.
