“After the assessment of the damages incurred due to the storm and in consultation with [the Department of Disaster Management] about the rest of the week’s forecast, the Virgin Islands Festivals and Fairs Committee made a conscious decision to postpone the activities in East End and Carrot Bay,” the VIFFC stated on its Facebook page.

The announcement reversed an earlier decision to hold the Wednesday morning Rise and Shine Tramp in East End.

The August Monday Parade, which had been rescheduled for Saturday after it was rained out on Monday, has also been cancelled.

“The committee apologises for any inconvenience cause,” the VIFFC stated. “Information will be given in the upcoming weeks on an event featuring the artists for East End and Carrot Bay.”
