The final witnesses testified in the assault case involving police officers Marvin Robinson and Wendell Anthony, who are accused of beating Brandon George while arresting him at his Huntums Ghut home in June 2012.

Police officers Jacqueline Williams and Job Trumpet both told the court that they were with Messrs. Robinson and Williams during the arrest and never saw them strike Mr. George, largely echoing Inspector Smyrna Brewley’s testimony from July.

The three officers claimed to have arrived together at the scene to assist the defendants in arresting Mr. George, who died in an unrelated scooter accident in September 2012.

According to testimony, Ms. Brewley assisted Messrs. Robinson and Anthony in the actual arrest, while Ms. Williams remained by the police vehicles and Mr. Trumpet assisted at impounding the alleged victim’s motor scooter.

Senior Crown Counsel Leslie-Ann Faulkner has expressed her scepticism at the officers’ account of the incident, suggesting that they fabricated the story to protect their colleagues.

Both parties are scheduled to make their closing arguments on Oct. 8.
