After a string of burglaries across Virgin Gorda last week, acting Chief Inspector in the Virgin Gorda Policing Division Selwyn Rock sought information from the public to help track down the perpetrators of a spate of recent burglaries on the island, according to a Thursday police press release.

This announcement comes after a villa in Mahoe Bay and a villa in Spring Bay were burgled earlier in the week, while Buck’s Food Market and “a business office” were “illegally entered” Wednesday night, with a significant amount of cash taken from the latter location, the press release stated.

The press release did not state what days the burglaries in Mahoe Bay and Spring Bay occurred, and while it said that a mattress and flatscreen television were stolen, it did not specify from which villa these items were taken.

“Our desire is to bring a quick end to these burglaries by arresting the individuals responsible and restoring the Virgin Gorda community to its former tranquil existence,” Mr. Rock said, according to the press release. “There are just a few, mostly young, individuals responsible. We are asking the public to give us the help needed to identify these individuals.”

Mr. Rock invited anyone with information to call him at 368-9138, the press release stated.
