The Virgin Islands Fire and Rescue Service responded to the scene and is investigating the incident, according to Mr. McLean.

No injuries were reported, he said.

Further information was not provided.

The interiors of both boats, which yesterday remained docked next to each other in Baughers Bay, appear to be severely charred and damaged by the blaze.

One of the vessels, Hi Point, was partially covered by a black tarp. The name of the other boat was not visible.

Virgin Islands Search and Rescue, an all-volunteer organisation that provides assistance during marine emergencies, was not contacted for assistance, according to VISAR Board President Gerard Kraakman.
