Five young men have been arrested in recent days in connection to burglaries in four separate places, according to Police Information Officer Diane Drayton.

Le’Shaun Fahie and Shakoy Lavacia, both 19, were jointly charged with burglary and criminal damage for allegedly entering the Althea Scatliffe Primary School illegally, Ms. Drayton said.

She also reported that Ajanhi Lockhart, 18, and a 17-year-old male were jointly charged with illegally entering a Belle Vue home.

Finally, Keejan Thomas, 23, of Belmont Estate, was charged with two counts of burglary in connection to two break-ins in West End: one at a taxi stand and another at a restaurant.

“Burglary is a serious crime with severe penalties,” said Deputy Police Commissioner Alwin James. “It is unfortunate that our young men are committing offenses of this nature and jeopardising their futures only for a temporary gain.”
