Compiled by government officers and his family members, the H. Lavity Stoutt Memorial Collection, opened in 2008 inside the college’s Learning Resource Centre, contains items from Mr. Stoutt’s political and professional life.

Although not all labelled, the photos and artefacts gathered for the collection offer a personal glimpse at one of the territory’s founding fathers.

This journal shows Mr. Stoutt’s handwritten notations from scripture. It may have been a book of personal devotions, or for his reference as he carried out his duties as a lay preacher.

Mr. Stoutt’s notes on the topic of adding an at-large representative to the legislature, which was then made only of district representatives.

Mr. Stoutt’s remarks at a 1993 meeting of the board of governors for what was then known as the BVI Community College.

Mr. Stoutt’s last passport bears many stamps and visas.

The traditional marriage announcement, issued from Mr. Stoutt’s parents-in-law, the parents of Hilda Smith.

Mr. Stoutt was largely self-taught, and the collection contains some of his personal library, such as these Career Institute course books on vocabulary, speech and conversation.

This placard was given to Mr. Stoutt as a thank you for his long service as a lay preacher in western Tortola.
