Members of the Girls’ Brigade of the Virgin Islands will host their counterparts from the Americas and the Caribbean during a conference scheduled for July 14-21 under the theme “Equipping God’s Elect.”

At a press conference last week at the Road Town Methodist Church, Girls’ Brigade Regional Vice President Hazelann Hannaway said the weeklong conference will begin with a meeting of executive leaders of the association from around the world.

Attendees are expected from as far away as Africa, Europe and Asia, she said.

After the executive meeting, the regional conference will kick off with about 50 members expected to attend, Ms. Hannaway said.

Activities for the event will include cultural presentations and workshops. This year will mark the first time the executive body will meet in the territory.
