Government is offering a grace period of three months on water disconnections for customers of the Water and Sewerage Department.

Transportation, Works and Utilities Minister Kye Rymer said the grace period started Jan. 18 and will extend to April 30.

“This period is to allow customers the opportunity to settle outstanding balances,” he said. “Your government understands the challenges that you the residents have experienced as a result of the impact from the Covid-19 pandemic last year. As a result, we decided to add some leniency in the regularly scheduled disconnections.”

He added that WSD customers, including those with bill discrepancies, are encouraged to use the time to make arrangements to bring their accounts current.
