Police found a prohibited firearm and several rounds of ammunition while executing a search warrant at a Hannahs Estate residence last Thursday as part of ongoing investigations into several serious crimes in the territory, according to the Police Information Office.

As a result, Shawn Morris Jr., 21, of Hannahs Estate, has been charged with possession of a prohibited weapon and possession of explosives, police said in a five-sentence press release issued Friday.

He was scheduled to appear before the Magistrates’ Court at the next available sitting, police said.

Police are urging anyone with information about illegal firearms in the territory to call the anonymous Crime Stoppers hotline at 800-8477 (TIPS) from inside the territory or at 284-800-8477 from overseas.
