Two guns and several rounds of ammunition were seized by police officers conducting search operations in Cane Garden Bay early Friday morning, police said.
Four people were taken into custody for questioning in connection with the items, according to a Friday statement from the Police Information Office.
As of Beacon press time yesterday afternoon, police had not provided any more information about the operation or said if anyone had been charged.
‘Significant step’
Acting Police Commissioner Jacqueline Vanterpool commended the officers involved in the operation.
“The removal of these firearms from our streets is a significant step in making our communities safer,” she said. “I commend the officers for their professionalism and dedication in this operation and in all other efforts to reduce violent crime in the territory.”
