Legislators likely will vote Tuesday to accept the $15.67 million loan approved earlier this month by the Caribbean Development Bank, Premier Ralph O’Neal said on Monday evening.

Speaking during the Virgin Islands Party’s radio programme, Mr. O’Neal said now that the CDB has approved the funds, there are a few more “stages” to complete. First, the House of Assembly needs to vote on it.

“We hope to bring the motion before the House on the 21st of June,” Mr. O’Neal said. After that, the government must send a request via Governor Boyd McCleary to British officials, as laid out in the latest borrowing guidelines, he said, adding that “there shouldn’t be any difficulty in getting that approved.”
