On Sunday morning, Virgin Islands police, immigration and customs officers detained 41 illegal migrants on Norman Island, according to the Royal Virgin Islands Police Force.
Police believe all the detainees, including two infants, are from Haiti.
According to police, there could be more unaccounted for on the island.
The detained migrants were transported to Tortola and are now being held at the Balsam Ghut Detention Centre.
The incident is still under investigation.
