Two men were sentenced and another completed his sentencing hearing on Thursday and Friday in High Court.

Kenville Penn, who pleaded guilty last month to possession of forged currency, was sentenced Friday morning to the 17 months he spent on remand. He was bound to keep the peace for two years or spend six months in prison.

Richard Finnegan, who pleaded guilty to bigamy on Monday, was sentenced Friday afternoon after spending Thursday night on remand. He was ordered by Justice Indra Hariprashad-Charles to pay a $20,000 fine, and his second marriage was annulled.

A sentencing hearing was held Friday morning for Vernon Paddy, who pleaded guilty on Feb. 1 to causing grievous bodily harm to his wife. Mr. Paddy was initially charged with attempted murder after allegedly beating his wife with a hammer on May 25, 2010. Ms. Hariprashad-Charles is to issue Mr. Paddy’s sentence March 25. He remains on remand.

High Court was adjourned until March 21.
