Police are investigating a Hannahs Estate burglary where two masked gunmen forcibly entered a home on Sunday morning and stole cash and several electronic items, according to Police Information Officer Diane Drayton.

Ms. Drayton said a male victim reported that the two assailants entered his home, kicked in his bedroom door and started making demands with their firearms aimed at him.

The pair then allegedly rummaged through his property, taking a watch, cash and a few electronic items before fleeing the scene.

He described one of the men as lighter skinned and about 5 feet 8 inches and 190 pounds, and the other as darker and about six feet and 140 pounds, Ms. Drayton said.

No injuries were reported in this incident, she said.

The information officer also said a robbery attempt from late on April 30 is under investigation.

In that incident, a victim was walking from the basketball court in Purcell Estate through an alley towards OneMart Supermarket when he was allegedly accosted by a male, who demanded his possessions.

Ms. Drayton reported that the assailant struck the victim in the head twice with a gun and then fled the scene.

The victim was taken to Peebles Hospital for treatment and released, she said. Nothing was reported stolen.

Anyone with information about the incidents can contact the Royal Virgin Islands Police Force Intelligence Unit at 468-9339 or the Criminal Investigations Unit via the RVIPF access number 311, Ms. Drayton said. She added that tips also can be provided anonymously by calling the Miami-based Crime Stoppers number at 800-8477.
