Talent show: The Royal Virgin Islands Police Force will host “The Best of the BVI Talent Show” tonight at the H. Lavity Stoutt Community College. Jeremy Vanterpool, Devon Jennings and Leilani Stevens are among scheduled performers. There also will be modeling by UMI.

Party: DJ Turbo will be behind the turntable at the Pisces Party at Bottoms Up Nightclub.

Quiz: It’s quiz night at the Tamarind Club, starting at about 7:30 p.m.

Cuisine: The Sabroso Churrasco Grill on Waterfront Drive is open, serving Brazilian and Portuguese cuisine for lunch and dinner. Happy hour is from 5-6 p.m. on Friday.

Happy hour: Take a drive to Cane Garden Bay for live music during happy hour at Quito’s Gazebo. It’s also TGIF at the Royal BVI Yacht Club from 12-5 p.m.

Volunteering: Join Rotaractors today from 5:30 p.m. for their weekly meeting at the Ward Building in Road Town. The group of young volunteers welcomes ages 18-30.

Saturday

Dance showcase: The IFE-ILE Afro-Cuban Dance Group will perform tonight from 8 p.m. at the H. Lavity Stoutt Community College auditorium. The performance is one of several concerts and events for the college’s Performing Arts Series.

Music: The Top 7 @ 7 Award Show will be held at the Sir Rupert Briercliffe Hall at 6 p.m. Various youth music groups and individuals will be awarded at the event.

Party: It’s the Cosmic Bowling Party tonight at U.P.’s Cineplex. DJ Dre will be behind the turntable.

Sports: Extra calories to burn? Today might be the right day for you to do something about it. Wake up early and join the exercisers who jog and walk in the morning.

Sunday

Party: It’s the Uniform Jam Party at Bottoms Up Nightclub. DJ Turbo, DJ Bertrum and DJ Avalanche from St. Thomas will be behind the turntable. The party starts at 10 p.m.

Beach: Today might be the best day for you to explore one of several beaches in the territory.  A trip to a sister island might just be the best option.

Karaoke: Feel free to carry your own musical key tonight at Nexus Café. Gadiethz will host karaoke from 7 p.m.

Video games: Get your family and friends to Myett’s today. Wii games will be playing tonight from 5 p.m. Options include tennis, bowling and others.

 

Monday

Public holiday: Today is H. Lavity Stoutt Day, a public holiday in honour of the territory’s first chief minister. A ceremony is scheduled to be held at the Noel Lloyd Positive Action Movement Park, starting at 10 a.m.

Tuesday

Volunteering: Bored? Call a volunteer organisation and donate your time. A new girls’ group, DARE — “Dream, Achieve, Relate and Empower” — was recently formed. Call 441-2663 or 544-6620 for more information. Also, the Humane Society, the Girl Guides or the Youth Empowerment Project might need your help today.

Cuisine: Watch a sushi chef in action at Sky Bar and Restaurant, open from 4 p.m. Monday through Saturday.

Dance: Free dance lessons are offered by Sarah Penney and friends at the Spy Glass Lounge at Treasure Isle beginning at about 7:30 p.m.

Music: Head to Bananakeet Café Wednesday and Friday nights for an opportunity to hear local singer and 12-string guitarist Reuben Chinnery perform at 6 p.m. Arrive by 4 p.m. and you can enjoy happy hour until 6 daily.
