Youth forum: The Rotary Club of Tortola hosts the Epic Youth Forum on Peace and Conflict Resolution, featuring speaker Rashad Jones of Epic Youth Services, today from 8:30 a.m. at the Multi-purpose Sports Complex. Tomorrow, a forum will be held at the New Testament of Hope Church on Virgin Gorda at 10 a.m.

Breast exams: CIBC First Caribbean is offering free clinical breast exams by a specialist nurse in a private room at the Tortola branch from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

TGIF: Oceans Seven celebrates its seventh anniversary with an all-inclusive boat trip departing the Road Town ferry terminal at 7 p.m. There will be music by DJ Dre and DJ Push Pop at the Peter Island club. Regular tickets cost $40, VIP tickets $50. Call 340-0891.

Walk for the Cure: CIBC FirstCaribbean sponsors a 2.5 mile Walk for the Cure this morning beginning at the Noel Lloyd Positive Action Movement Park. Registration is at 4:30 a.m. and costs $20, with proceeds to go to the BVI Cancer Society.

Oktoberfest: The Tortola Sports Club is hosting its fourth Oktoberfest, encouraging attendees to don their lederhosen and enjoy “authentic German beer.” Tickets cost $25, which includes a beer mug and a plate of food. Call 541-6677. 

Fire benefit: St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Sea Cows Bay hosts a food sale across the street from the church from 10 a.m. Proceeds will benefit a family that recently lost their possessions in a fire.

Karaoke: The Rock Café on Virgin Gorda hosts karaoke every Sunday from 7 p.m. and offers live music on other nights. Call 495-5482.

Slow season: It’s slow season and many establishments are closed for a few weeks. This might be a good time to explore one of the territory’s many beaches, museums, hiking trails or historical sites.

Dolly House, the play featured in this space last week, has been postponed until further notice.

The date listed in last week’s Weekend and Culture section for the National Theatre Live presentation of King Lear at HLSCC was incorrect. The play will be shown at the college on Oct. 25.
